Terms of Service

These terms govern the hosted App AI Gateway service. If you run the gateway yourself, the Apache 2.0 licence governs that and these terms do not apply to you.

Last updated 12 September 2026

1. What these terms cover

They are an agreement between you and App AI Gateway (“we”, “us”) about the hosted service at console.appaigateway.com (the “Service”). Creating an account means you accept them. If you accept them for a company, you confirm you are allowed to bind it.

The gateway’s source code is published separately under the Apache 2.0 licence. A deployment you run in your own Cloudflare account is covered by that licence alone — we neither operate it nor receive any data from it.

2. The Service

App AI Gateway is a proxy between your applications and third-party model providers. You create an organisation, register applications, add your own provider credentials, and route requests through the gateway. We run the infrastructure; the applications, credentials, and traffic remain yours.

3. Your account

You must be at least 18 and give accurate account details. Keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for everything done under your organisation — by its members, by its application API keys, and by your end users. Tell us at support@appaigateway.com as soon as you suspect an account or key has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
  • send content that breaches the terms of the model provider handling the request;
  • attack, probe, or overload the Service or the infrastructure it runs on, or work around plan quotas, rate limits, or billing;
  • resell the Service itself as a competing gateway. Serving your own applications and their end users is exactly what it is for and is not restricted.

You are responsible for what your applications and end users send through the gateway, and for what they do with the responses.

5. Model providers

You supply your own provider credentials. We store them encrypted and use them only to serve your requests. Requests are forwarded to the provider you choose, under your account with that provider and subject to its terms, and it bills you directly. We do not control any provider’s availability, pricing, models, or output, and we do not warrant them.

We do not sell, resell, or bundle AI model access, tokens, or credits. Your subscription pays for gateway infrastructure only — routing, credential custody, authentication, rate limits, and usage analytics.

6. Plans, payment, and quotas

Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance at the interval shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; its terms apply to the transaction and it handles applicable taxes. Prices exclude tax unless stated otherwise.

A plan may include a monthly request allowance, shared by every application, key, and end user your organisation owns. Free-plan periods begin when the organisation is created; paid-plan periods follow the subscription’s monthly anniversary. Each allowance renews monthly at the same UTC time. If the renewal day does not exist in a shorter month, the allowance renews on that month’s last day; the original day returns in later months when it exists. Once the allowance is spent, further requests are refused with 429 until the period renews or you move to a larger plan. A plan change within the same billing schedule keeps the period’s usage. A change to the billing interval or billing date starts a fresh allowance period. What your model providers charge is separate and always yours to pay.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in the console; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep access until then. The hosted service has a free plan with a fixed monthly request allowance and no expiry. We do not offer free trials of paid plans; every paid plan is charged from the first day.

We may change prices on at least 30 days’ notice by email; a new price applies from your next renewal.

7. Refunds

If the Service has not worked as described, email support@appaigateway.com within 14 days of a charge and we will refund that month’s fee in full. Refunds are issued by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, to the original payment method. Outside that window, cancelling stops future charges, but fees already paid for the current period are not refunded pro rata, except where the law requires it. Lemon Squeezy may also issue a refund within 60 days of a purchase under its own buyer terms.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account for unpaid fees, a breach of these terms, or use that endangers the Service or other customers. Where circumstances allow, we will warn you first. While a subscription is inactive, requests from your applications are refused with 402 rather than served — your applications, keys, and history are not deleted, and access resumes when billing is active again.

You may close your account at any time by writing to support@appaigateway.com. We then delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Because the gateway is open source, you can move to a self-hosted deployment instead of cancelling outright.

9. Availability and support

We aim to keep the Service available and to fix faults promptly, but we do not offer an uptime guarantee, and maintenance may interrupt it. Support is by email at support@appaigateway.com.

10. Changes

We may change the Service and these terms. We will announce material changes by email or in the console at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.

11. Ownership

You keep all rights in your applications, your configuration, and your traffic, and grant us only the permissions we need to operate the Service for you. We may use aggregated statistics that identify no customer to operate and improve the Service. The console, this website, and the gateway software remain ours, with the open-source parts governed by their own licence.

12. Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent the law permits, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims, losses, and costs arising from your use of the Service, the content your applications send through it, or your breach of these terms.
